Have a say in trails planning at public input meetings
FERGUS FALLS, MINN — West Central Initiative (WCI) invites west central Minnesota residents to attend one of two public input meetings for regional trails planning. The first meeting will be in Morris on Tuesday, March 31 from 5-7 p.m. at the University of Minnesota—Morris’ Imholte Hall 112. The second meeting will be in Pelican Rapids on Thursday, April 2 from 5-7 p.m. at the Pelican Rapids Library, 25 W Mill Ave.
WCI is currently updating the West Central Minnesota Multi-Use Trails Plan (MUTP). The purpose of the plan is to provide guidance to develop trails in west central Minnesota. The plan also inventories existing trails in the region, aids in the coordination of regional-level trails planning activities and recommends possible links in the regional trails network. The document also serves as a resource for persons working on local-level trails in their communities.
The public input meetings let individuals interested in the MUTP development process comment on the plan and identify regional trail connections.
West Central Initiative is a regional community foundation serving the nine west central Minnesota counties of Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse and Wilkin. WCI invests resources in our communities for regional success, using the tools of economic development and community development and philanthropy. Learn more at wcif.org.
