The Foxtailers' Snowmobile Club is offering a Snowmobile Safety Online Field Day that will be held on 10/27/18 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Michael High School, 5800 Jamison Ave NE, St. Michael. Participants must register for training class at stma.ce.eleyo.com/course . Must be 11 years of age prior to class date to be eligible to participate in class. Lunch will be provided. Students need to dress for cold weather with proper snowmobile gear i.e., hat, gloves and boots. Please bring a helmet if you have one. A parent/guardian must accompany their youth to sign a release form and bring proof of age (birth certificate) of student. The parent/guardian is also encouraged to stay for the first of training presented by a MN DNR officer. Upon completion of the course the certificate can be purchased on the MNDNR website for $5.00.

Snowmobile Safety Online Field Day will be held on December 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at 15751 Ridgeview Ln W, Detroit Lakes. First, you must complete an online youth snowmobile safety training class: snowmobilecourse.com (fee for this course is $29.95). After completing you print a youth follow-up voucher" to take to the snowmobile safety training class. Secondly, participants must attend the snowmobile safety field day (the three-hour class includes classroom review of safety information and a performance driving course) led by trained volunteer instructors. Pleas note: Eat breakfast beforehand and bring a snack to class; Parent/guardian will need to sign a waiver form when dropping off their students; and remember to bring your riding gear to class (clothing and helmet).

What to Expect:

~ Students must be dressed properly for the outdoor elements .
~ Please bring your helmet, because it is the law.
~ You must know hand signals, and the pre-ride inspection of your snowmobile.

If you do not have a snowmobile, see if you can ride a friends', or tell an instructor that you do not have a machine to ride. There will be a couple of snowmobiles to use.
