Dear Members:
What a winter we are having and speaking for myself, and probably all of you I think it can be agreed upon that this is certainly not favorable for our common interest of snowmobiling! I have seen many years in the past with little snow, but also accompanied with such little ice is just crazy! While this year has proven itself as one of the worst years for trail riding and getting those miles in, there has been some positive outcomes from it. I am talking about trail maintenance, because we all want the best trails possible. This year has allowed us to get quite a bit of work done so I thought it best to inform you about all the good hard work to our trails that has been accomplished this winter:
1. EDA-1 trail North along the Canadian border was brushed out and widened. We also got the new bridge installed and completed improvements on the shelter.
2. Ray Morisette trail got the reroute complete, and we cleared the brush along the worst part of the border. There was also a NEW outhouse with lights put up too.
3. Bay trail Warroad to rocky Point East shore was brushed and widened.
4. South of Hayes Lake as well as the East of Hayes Lake was brush mowed.
With increasing costs, the club has been working on fund raising. The snowmobile raffle turned out to be very successful and I want to extend a “Thank You” to all who bought and sold tickets, as well as the business that helped sell for us….Thanks Again!
Looking ahead we are planning to have a four wheeler and raffling that off at the Polaris birthday party on August 17th street dance, so it is going to be another busy year and we look to you for your participation and help to keep us on point to continue to move in a positive direction.
Lastly, on March 19th we will be holding elections and a meeting at the American Legion (Warroad) starting at 6:00PM. I believe there are 4 directors up for re-election so this is your chance to voice your opinion, make a difference and play an active role in the Trailblazers as well as the communities we serve.
