The Wood City Riders Snowmobile Club, based in Cloquet Minnesota, was founded in 1969 by snowmobile enthusiasts from the greater Cloquet area in order to promote, encourage and provide a means of recreation for the sport of snowmobiling in the area.
The club’s current trail system of approximately 55 miles extending out from its center in Cloquet south to the Munger Trail, west to the Cromwell Sno Gophers trail system, and north into St Louis County to the Alborn Sno Devils trail system connector and Grand Lake area connector are the result of many decades of work by dedicated individuals. The club is continually maintaining, upgrading and grooming these trails for the enjoyment of all snowmobilers.
The club operates a variety of pre-season maintenance equipment for brushing, surface preparation and bridge maintenance; and currently owns a Tucker Sno Cat groomer, two ASV groomers and Arrowhead drags for winter trail grooming operations.
From a community standpoint, the club conducts an annual youth snowmobile safety training program using DNR certified Snowmobile Safety Instructors, training area youth on the safety, courtesy and laws related to the sport of snowmobiling.
We are also an active supporter of the Cloquet Educational Fund, The Blue Jean Ball and a large variety of youth programs in northern Carlton County and southern St Louis County.
The club holds several club based riding events locally and also hosts several destination rides each season. All snowmobilers are encouraged to join the club and participate in the fun! We are a volunteer based club, and your support is greatly appreciated.
Please visit our Facebook page for our most current happenings and grooming reports. You are also welcome to call, text or email the club for any questions or concerns or to be added to our email distribution for club events.
