The general membership meetings will be held at the Marcell Family Center at 6:30pm except during the month of December. MFC is located on the west side of Hwy. 38 in beautiful downtown Marcell. Come join us there, you'll be welcome! The next meeting will be on March 15, 2017. Come join us, we would love to meet you.
Trail Report as of 03/11/17:
We had a good base of snow when the temperatures turned warm and the snowpack on the trails diminished significantly. The rain did not help. Expect to find some bare spots. Riding conditions are poor. Grooming will resume if we get one of those big snowstorms March is known for. It better come soon though as the season closes at midnight, March 31.
Our youth snowmobile safety training class was held on Sunday,January 8th at the Marcell Town Hall. We certified 16 new, young snowmobilers.
The club maintains and grooms 105 miles of trails. Trails include: Wilderness Willie, Effie Connection, Bigfork Lions, Marcell North and Marcell South, and portions of the Cameron and Bowstring Trails.
Our trails are connected to the Herb Brandstrom Trail which leads to the Taconite Trail, the Suomi
Trail, the Blue Ox Trail and many others. We cover Talmoon, Marcell, Bigfork, Effie, Craigville and we almost reach Togo.
We have trailhead parking at our clubhouse and also at our Effie Garage which is located at the end of SW Summit Ave in Effie. From the intersection of Highway l and Highway 38 in Effie, turn east on Highway 1 for about a 1/4 mile, turn right on Summit.
We have a variety of trails with straight runs and many with lots of curves. THIS IS SCENIC COUNTRY. We have 1000 lakes in Itasca County. You will see many of them from our trails. We have resorts, hotels, restaurants, gas stations, convenience stores, snowmobile sales & repair shops and on&off sale liquor stores waiting to accommodate you! Many are located right on the trail system.
COME AND USE OUR TRAILS FOR A GREAT RIDE! See you on the trails. Remember to ride sober and keep right.
